The routes in Latoritei Mountains – Voineasa – Gruiul Prejbutei – Ciresu Top -Saddle Chica Lupului – Voineasa

Route: easily accessible.
Guide mark: blue triangle from Saddle Chica Lupului
Duration: 4-5 hours

Starting from Zan Hotel we’ll go this time to the concrete bridge at the entrance to the resort and follow the road to the east, to the exit from Voineasa, where just next to the last houses, we’ll see a spring coming from the right, whose alluvial are collected by a concrete dam.  From this point onwards we will start climbing on a wide path through beeches and birches, from where we can admire, while resting, the wide opening of Lotrului valley, as well as the panoramic view over Voineasa resort.  In the distance we can spot the high silhouette of Runculet Top. After about an hour walking, we reach the rounded peak, whose southern part, opens in a flower filled meadow. From here we head to the south, going down to a saddle, then starting our climbing on a path through the beech forest. Soon we will reach the road on the peak Macesului Valley- Stefanu, on the Westside of Ciresu Top (1.161 m), wooded on the northern side. We keep climbing up the road, pass by a spring on the right and down to a small saddle. The northern side, strongly fragmented by Larga spring is covered by beeches and birches and occasionally spotted by fir trees. We make a small detour while climbing Chica Lupului Peak (1.122 m) after which we climb down in Saddle Chica Lupului, where a large view opens towards the north, west and south.

From here onwards, the route follows the path (marked with a blue triangle), which goes down to the north, passes by a spring, crosses Cararii spring accompanying it on the left bank. As we go down, the path crosses a forest of large beeches and hornbeams, then goes down on Cararii path and gets to the road, from where we get back to Zan Hotel.
