Transalpina – Voineasa Ski Resort is one of the newest, most modern, and most spectacular ski resorts in Romania. Located in the Parâng Mountains, in the Obârșia Lotrului area, the resort offers a well-balanced combination of recreational skiing, modern cable transport infrastructure, and remarkable mountain panoramas.
📍 Access & Distance
The Transalpina – Voineasa Ski Resort is located approximately 30 km from ZAN Hotel.
Access is via an asphalt road all the way to the base of the slopes. During the winter season, winter tires are recommended, and in difficult weather conditions snow chains may be necessary.


🚡 Transalpina Gondola – Main Infrastructure
Access to the slopes is provided by two modern, fully enclosed gondola lines. These ensure an efficient flow of skiers and visitors, even during busier periods.

- Transport capacity: approx. 2,400 people/hour per line
- Total capacity: approx. 4,800 people/hour
- Ascent time: ~6–7 minutes
- Access allowed for both skiers and non-skiing visitors
During the ascent, a wide panorama opens over Vidra Lake. The lake appears as a vast stretch of water framed by conifer forests and the ridges of the Parâng Mountains, offering one of the most spectacular views in the area.
🎿 Slope Access & Ski Lifts
From the upper gondola station, there is direct access to:
- the main slopes of the resort
- a chairlift serving intermediate areas
- drag lifts dedicated to beginners and training zones
The resort layout allows smooth descents, without difficult crossings or narrow sections.


⛰️ Altitude & Slopes
- Base altitude: ~1,320 m
- Maximum altitude: ~1,850 m
- Vertical drop: ~530 m
The resort includes approximately 9 km of certified ski slopes, well maintained and suitable for different levels:
- easy slopes, ideal for beginners and children
- intermediate slopes, suitable for recreational skiing
- advanced slopes, designed for experienced skiers
Slope lengths vary between approximately 800 m and over 2,000 m, with wide and well-shaped runs.
🎿 Ski & Snowboard School
At the base of the resort there are ski and snowboard schools with certified instructors, offering:
- private or group lessons
- courses for children and adults
- beginner and advanced training (skiing and snowboarding)
The base area and the beginner slopes provide a safe and spacious environment for first lessons.
🏂 Equipment Rental Centers
Near the gondola station there are equipment rental centers, offering:
- skis, ski boots, and poles
- snowboards
- helmets and children’s equipment
Their location allows quick and easy access to both the lifts and the slopes.
🚗 Parking
At the base of the ski resort there are approximately 500 parking spaces, including:
- ~380 spaces in the main above-ground parking area
- ~120 ground-level parking spaces
The parking areas are located right next to the gondola, rental centers, and ski schools, ensuring quick and convenient access. Parking is paid and charged on a daily basis.
